About Me - Heather Elliott

Professional Background

Professional Experience

I started my career as a high school teacher of Business Education to students as well as adults returning to get their diplomas. I taught for 12 years, advancing through the ranks to become Director of the Business Department. By 1990 I decided that a switch in careers was necessary. My next career took me into the training field for a period of 9 years beginning in 1995. During that time I delivered training to a variety of clients ranging from small businesses to large corporations including government agencies. I also managed the Operations for a training company for 2 of those years. My training focused in the area of soft skills - communication, conflict resolution, team building, etc. I used my knowledge of personality as the cornerstone of my work. In recent years I have expanded my offerings into the areas of Coaching, Presentation Skills, Facilitation Skills, Client Service Excellence and Time Management.

Core Belief Engineering

I discovered Core Belief Engineering at a time when I was desperate to find a solution for a friend who was seriously suicidal. Many years ago, I had come to the conclusion that our thoughts and beliefs are the foundation of our reality. So when faced with my friend's suicidal behavior and the disturbing fact that she had no conscious control over it, I started to look for options. After a frustrating and unsuccessful flirtation with standard medicine, psychiatry and counseling, I turned to alternative health care and there I found an ad for Core Belief Engineering. Perfect - it fit with my truth - that at the base of her actions would lay thoughts and beliefs that were fueling her behavior.

And I was correct in my assumption. Her issue was complex in that she had had tremendous emotional, physical and mental trauma in her childhood resulting in a continuous desire to die. And now the intensity of that desire was far greater because she was becoming 'conscious' of her childhood trauma. Any type of childhood trauma can damage self esteem, personal power, our sense of self, our ability to function in life in healthy ways. It can impede our ability to create lasting, positive and healthy relationships with others, with a partner or with ourselves. Invariably you develop belief systems that limit you - 'I can't trust others"; "I'm alone in life"; "life is scary"; "death is better than life"; "there's no way out"; "I don't deserve good things"; are but a few of the beliefs that may get created.

She had all of that and more carefully locked up in her mind. Her healing has been a journey involving several sessions with a CBE Practitioner. But its results have been outstanding. Within 3 sessions she was 'stable' - able to function in life without succumbing to interal pressures to die. She was able to consistently go to work and to begin the process of ending a relationship created from old attitudes and behaviors. And she began to build her self and her life again - from the ground up.

Additional sessions have peeled off layers of anger. Parts of the mind that were severely hurt by her childhood experiences were brought to the forefront and healed. All of her life she has had a horrible temper; one of her later sessions removed large chunks of it. She is amazed at how calm she is. Overall she is happier in life, she feels more in charge, and for the first time ever, more optimistic about her future. And the addictions that had become a life-long problem, used to numb the past, are all but gone.

I became a CBE Practitioner because I was totally impressed with the capability of this technology to change the root structure of limitation, unhappiness, dysfunctional life patterns, low self esteem & emotional issues such as depression & anxiety. Never before have I encountered a system this effective in helping the mind to change its mind about what it thinks and believes - quickly - with some change usually evident at the end of each session.
